Ludmilla Kudelko, Age:102

Ludmilla (nee Brksa) Kudelko, age 102, passed away peacefully at her residence, Central Baptist Village, of Norridge, Illinois, on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Devoted wife of the late Theodore; Loving mother of Linda (Daryl O’Rourke) Kudelko and Shirley (John) Cervantes; Dear grandmother to Daniel Cervantes and great grandmother to Evelyn Cervantes; Very Dear sister of the late Joseph (Mary) Brexa,  the late Pauline (Bernard) Paul and the late Mary (Dennis) Boyd ; Loving aunt to her nieces and nephews and their children; and a good friend to many.

She was born in Turany, Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia) at the foothills of the Tatra Mountains. After her mother passed away, she came to the United States at the age of 10 with her brother Joe (13) and sister Polly  (8) to live with their father. He remarried and gave them another sister, Mary, and the siblings remained close throughout the rest of their lives in the U.S..  She brought with her a love of nature, and Slovakia was always with her. She was down to earth with a positive attitude toward life; enthusiastic, liked to laugh and had a good sense of humor. She loved music, especially classical.  She was kind and caring, and she was strong on her life’s winding path, and a devout Catholic.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to express their sincerest thanks and appreciation to the staff at Resurrection Retirement Community, where Mom enjoyed living for over 20 years, and to the staff at Central Baptist Village, where Mom continued life’s journey for her last two years, for their compassion and the care they provided to “Ludie”, and for the tremendous support they gave to the family.
