Bradley “Bengle” Engle Sr., Age:71

Bradley “Bengle” Engle Sr., of Chicago, passed away on January 10th, with his family by his side.  He was born to Harry and Pearl Engle (nee Knedlik) on October 5, 1953. He is survived by his wife Mary Engle (nee Gleeson), his son Bradley Engle Jr. (Sarah), his daughter Jamie Engle, and five beautiful grandchildren, Jasmine, Lily, Aoife, Liam and Billy. Brad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in December of 2021. He went through Immuno-therapy, radiation, and interventional surgeries, and he fought valiantly. All doctors and nurses involved in his care were surprised with how strong he was.
 
Brad grew up on the south side of Chicago, in his youth he was known for mischief, drag racing, and working on his 1967 GTO. Brad had a love for science and a knack for mechanics, he really could fix anything. He started Brad’s Home Improvements in the late 70’s and was known for carrying two 90lb. bundles of shingles up a ladder with no hands and the guy that fell off a Church Steeple and walked away without a scratch. He was a mountain of man with a big mighty voice.
 
He worked for a machine manufacturer Great Lakes/Arpac for almost 30 years as a Field Service Engineer (among other titles) and spent many years traveling all over the globe fixing high-speed packaging machinery and arguing with engineers to modify and improve their machine designs. Brad was highly intelligent, creative, inventive and prided himself in looking at the big picture and thinking outside the box.
 
He was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. His most favorite hobby was model aviation, he built many impressive planes, all of which were involved in one crash or another and repaired by Brad before they were hung from the ceiling in his “man cave”.
