Joan Andersen (née Collins) died on June 8, 2024 after an illness. Beloved wife of the late Norman Andersen; loving mother of Robert (Amber Reyes) Andersen and Karen (Richard) Moran; and devoted grandmother of Cassandra, Megan and Molly. Joan was an assistant to hotel executives and loved the fast-paced hospitality industry. After retirement, she volunteered for many non-profits and was a life-long learner, participating in classes, lectures and book clubs. Joan was also active in many local groups, such as the Senior Center, MaineStreamers and the 20th Century Club. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm at Olson Burke/Sullivan Funeral & Cremation Center, 6471 N Northwest Highway, Chicago, IL 60631. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joan may be made to the American Cancer Society, donate.cancer.org, 1-800-227-2345.
