Two nights ago, I received an unexpected email from another old friend, relaying this sad turn. I more or less kept it together until this morning, when, contemplating our many, eons-ago, late-night, would-be Round Table discussions on just about every imaginable topic ... Brubeck playing on the desktop ... I completely lost it. I'll miss my friend, but I'll also remember her for the good-natured enthusiasm that she brought to almost every endeavor, and for the love that she brought to the people in her life.
